L. M. "Red" Raynor, 70, of 1190 Ray Road, died a Fort Harrison Wednesday after a short illness.

He was born May 20, 1921, in Noxon to Charles E. and Violet M. Raynor. He attended grade schools in Noxon and graduated from Plains High School.

In 1941, he married Dorothy Dungen. During their marriage, they had three children They later divorced. He later married Ruby Piane.

He entered the Army Air Corp in 1942 and served during World War II. Following his discharge in 1945, he came to the Helena area. He was employed with several painting firms including Al Beck and Sunny Pembroke. He retired in 1983.

Mr. Raynor enjoyed the outdoors. He particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the painters' union and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby; three children, Larry Raynor of Helena, Terry Reeves of Marysville, Wash. and Connie Swanby of Sheridan, Wyo.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Retz Chapel with the Rev. Randall Olson officiating.
