Prince Filiberto of Savoy, 4th Duke of Genoa, was the second son of Prince Thomas of Savoy-Genoa, Duke of Genoa, and his wife, Princess Isabella of Bavaria, daughter of Prince Adalbert of Bavaria and his Infanta Amalia of Spain. He was given the title Duke of Pistoia on September 22, 1904. Upon the death of his brother Ferdinando on June 24, 1963 he succeeded to the title Duke of Genoa.

Prince Filiberto was married in Turin on April 30, 1928 to Princess Lydia d'Arenberg, a daughter of Engelbert-Marie, 9th Duke of Arenberg, and Princess Hedwige of Ligne. They had no children.
