A graveside service for Dona Beatrice “Bat” Thompson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020, in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 3933 Hwy. 489 S., LaCamp, LA 71438 with Reverends Sherman Busby and Greg Mortensen officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.

Dona was born August 24, 1942 in LaCamp, LA and passed away May 13, 2020 at the age of 77. She was a life-long resident of Vernon Parish and a member of the Fly Free Ministry Church. Dona enjoyed canning, cooking, camping, and took pride in her garden. She was an avid fan of basketball and was a Hicks Pirates fan. Her family was her true love, and they meant the world to her.

Dona was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Wayne Thompson; parents, Garwood Elmo Busby and Bertie Melvanie Harper Busby and brother, Gary Busby.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Quintin Thompson and wife, Liz, of Leesville, LA, Jerome Thompson of Hicks, LA and Lance Thompson and wife, Lisa, of Simpson, LA; grand-children, Ashley Norris and husband, Wesley, Candace Thompson, Cole Thompson and wife, Chelsea, Chelsea Benjamin and husband, Scotty, Dylan Thompson and wife, Kayton, Jade Myers and husband, Kyle, Alexis Dousay and husband, Richard, Alyssa Thompson, and Jacoby Thompson; great-grandchildren, Seth, Kaydance, Seylah, Gavin, Luke, Landry, Gunnar, Ramsey, Gentry, Hadleigh, Kooper, Kennedy, Maverick, and Mollie; brothers, J. L. Busby and wife, Barbara, of Leesville, LA, Dale Busby and wife, Trish, of Slagle, LA and Elwood Busby of Hicks, LA; sisters, Pat Tarver and husband, Lowell, of LaCamp, LA, Dorothy Suenkel and husband, Ron, of LaCamp, LA, Beverly Williams and husband, Randy, of North Carolina, Kathy Muse and husband, Preston, of New Llano, and Melinda Rose and boyfriend, Donald Johnson, and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Caleb LaCaze, Morgan Collins, Mike Charrier, Billy Partin, Cole Thompson, and Dylan Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Norris, Jacoby Thompson, and Luke Thompson.
