He was born March 22, 1927, in Detroit, the son of John and Bertha (Face) Dutton.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and married Patricia Potter on April 15, 1950, and enjoyed 60 years of marriage before her passing on October 29, 2010.
Surviving are his children, Doug (Sandra) Dutton, Jim (Karen) Dutton, Janet (Michael Neal) Jackson and Judy (James) Madigan; grandchildren, Kim, Traci, Jeffrey, Katherine, Maxwell, Jack and Kelly; and several great grandchildren.
A private family service is planned, with a public memorial service when the country returns to better health.
Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
Memorial tributes are suggested to the Farmington Elks.
