Vera Lynn Hildebrand, 74, of Greenville died the afternoon of May 17, 2007, at her home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Dr. John T. Tate officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The daughter of Floyd and Izola Bell Bracey Balch, she was born June 25, 1932, in Kemp. On Dec. 4, 1965, she was married to W.L. Hildebrand in Garland.

Mrs. Hildebrand worked as an electronic installer, retiring from E-Systems in 1998.

Surviving are her husband of Greenville; a son, Rocky McElwrath of Winnsboro; a daughter, Sandra Hubbell of Winnsboro; stepdaughter Lana Altry of Little Rock, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Dani Campbell of Greenville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ruel "Scooter" McElwrath; a grandson, Jeremiah Weems; four brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers are Doyle Balch, Brian Balch, Cole Weems, Timothy Mays, Terry McElwrath, Keith Roberts and Kevin Ragsdale.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
