Henry Johnson Brent, son of Col. William Brent and his first wife, Catherine Walker Johnson, was married first to Elizabeth Carroll, daughter of Daniel Carroll of Duddington and his wife, Anne Boyce; and, after Elizabeth's death, he married Wealtha Backus on 3 April 1850. Henry and Elizabeth had four children: Catherine Douglas, Henry Boyce, Henry May, and William Carroll Brent. Henry and Wealtha had one son, Claude.
