Gert married William D. Pheiffer on November 20, 1947 in Monmouth, IL and he passed away on March 10, 2004.
Survivors include her sons; Don (Terry) Pheiffer and Barry Pheiffer both of Wyoming, IL. 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her husband, Gert was preceded in death by one son, William G. Pheiffer and her daughter in law, Cindy Pheiffer.
Gert was raised and educated in the New Windsor, IL., area and graduated from New Windsor High School. She worked on the family farm and was also employed as a bookkeeper. She spent most of her life growing over 2500 hybrid daylily varieties and selling them across the country. She enjoyed growing her flowers and spending time with her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private graveside services will be held at the Alexis Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or the givers preferred charity.
