William Gustavus Bartley, a son of Johnson and Elizabeth Bartley, was born near Brockville, July 23, 1862, and passed away at his home near Willow Hill, January 7, 1934, after an illness of several months. The final summons of death was due to leakage of the heart and its complications.

On March 28, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Ora Ethel Kilgore. To this union three children were born, namely: Mrs. Forrest (Iva) McCoy, Mrs. Aaron (Ethel) Hunt who passed away in 1914, and Glen Bartley of Rose Hill. He also leaves two grandsons, Max and Bobby Lee of Rose Hill, and one brother, Lee Bartley. On November 10, 1926, he was again united in marriage to Mrs. Lydia M. Hume, who also survives him.

Mr. Bartley was ever of a kind disposition, making staunch friends of those with whom he was privileged to come into contact. His home and community will miss him, for he was ever an upright citizen, true to the principles of the highest ideals of right or wrong.

Short funeral services were held at the family home by Rev. D. I. Lingafelter, Tuesday, January 9, and services at Cummins Church in charge of Elder B. F. Ferguson. Interment was in Kilgore Cemetery.
