A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9 at Heritage Funeral Home in Indian Trail with interment in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Chapman was born April 11, 1949 in Monroe, NC to the late John C. and Alma Baucom Simpson. A member of Midway Baptist Church, she enjoyed cross-stitching and working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Rushing.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Chapman of Marshville; daughters, Valerie Starnes (Michael) of Stallings and Crystal Jameson Mode (Kenny) of Stallings; and brother, Marvin Simpson of Monroe. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew and Sheridan Starnes of Stallings, Allan Jameson (Nicole) of Stallings, Alex Jameson of Charlotte, and Mackenzie and Katherine Mode of Indian Trail; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ava, Alexa, and Aria Jameson.
The family would like to offer a word of appreciation for the entire staff of Hospice of Union County for their care during this time, and would ask that memorials be made to their organization: Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
