Darrel Wayne Little of Bloomington, Ind., loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at the age of 75.

Darrel was born June 15, 1944 in Crittenden County, Ky. to Thomas Ercie Little and Loyla Mertle (Thomas) Little. A 1962 graduate of Crittenden County High School, Darrel spent over three decades with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1999. He also worked for several years as a courier for Monroe Bank and German American Bank. Darrel also previously served as a first responder with the Gregg Township Fire Department in Morgan County.

Darrel married Sadie (Wilson) on June 22, 1963, and they were married nearly 57 years. They raised a son Dwayne, and daughter Robin (Rob Clendening).

Darrel was passionate about serving in church ministry. For over 30 years Darrel served in various roles at Speedway General Baptist Church in Indianapolis, including deacon, Sunday school superintendent and bus driver. More recently he spent several years touring as the bus driver with the gospel groups Sonshiners Quartet and Open Heart Quartet. Darrel and Sadie attended Burgoon Church near Bloomington. He also loved camping, fishing, boating and various DIY projects.

Darrel was preceded in death by his father Thomas, mother Loyla, brother JC, and sister Earlene. He is survived by his wife Sadie, son Dwayne, daughter Robin, grandsons Austin Little and Hayden Clendening, and granddaughter Megan Clendening.

The family plans to hold a gospel sing as a celebration of Darrel’s life later this summer.
