Obituary for Ofelia E. Torres

Ofelia Esqueda Torres peacefully went to be with the Lord on Feb. 20, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side. She was 87. Ofelia was born on Dec. 29, 1924 in Dilley, Texas.

She graduated from Dilley High School in 1944 and married Benito, her friend since childhood, on May 14, 1945. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and found happiness in being with her loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Benito Torres and her daughters, Elda Vasquez, Esther, Estella, and Linda Lou Torres of San Antonio; grandchildren Ruben B. Vasquez of Austin and Stephanie Vasquez of San Antonio; great grandchildren Benjamin and Arissa Vasquez of Austin, and sister Estela Velasquez of San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her father, Severo Esqueda, mother Victoria Mata, brother Juanito Esqueda, and daughter Norma Torres.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. with a evening service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
