Bernice was raised in the Suez community in Comanche County and graduated from Beattie High School. She and Shorty lived in Ft. Bernice was very active even up to her final days. She always grew a huge and bountiful garden. Bernice was a wonderful cook and made the best desserts. She loved yardwork and being outdoors. She was a talented seamstress and made or altered almost all of her and Shorty’s clothing.
