With profound sadness we announce the passing of Shirley Anne Quick, age 81, our loving mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Shirley lived at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday night December 3rd, 2019, surrounded by family.

Burial in the Junction Township Cemetery, rural Grand Junction, Iowa.

Shirley was born on July 25, 1938, in Lynch, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Rose (Zakrzewski) Podany.

Beloved wife of Donald Quick, they were married on June 2nd, 1956. Don and Shirley lived in Jefferson for over 20 years before moving to Marshalltown in 2011.

Shirley had held several part time positions but always loved being a homemaker. At St. Joseph's she was active in the lay ministry and helping the elderly. She enjoyed socializing with friends and loved her coffee.

Surviving are her husband Don; two sons Michael and Russell; grandchildren Zachary, Abbygail, Hunter Mathieu, and Elizabeth (Edgar) Corral; three sisters, MaryLou (Harold) Fernau, Rosemary (Ken) Porter, and the late Lucy (Marlin) Quaring.
