Shirley was born on July 25, 1938, in Lynch, Nebraska, the daughter of William and Rose (Zakrzewski) Podany.
Beloved wife of Donald Quick, they were married on June 2nd, 1956. Don and Shirley lived in Jefferson for over 20 years before moving to Marshalltown in 2011.
Shirley had held several part time positions but always loved being a homemaker. At St. Joseph's she was active in the lay ministry and helping the elderly. She enjoyed socializing with friends and loved her coffee.
Surviving are her husband Don; two sons Michael and Russell; grandchildren Zachary, Abbygail, Hunter Mathieu, and Elizabeth (Edgar) Corral; three sisters, MaryLou (Harold) Fernau, Rosemary (Ken) Porter, and the late Lucy (Marlin) Quaring.
