It was with feelings of sincere sorrow that the news was received here that Mr. Willis Crist, a former resident passed away at his home in Watsontown, Norththumberland County, Pa. He died at 11 o'clock on Friday night after about two weeks illness. He had not been in good health for several years. In September 1904, he was stricken with progressive parlysis, affecting his speach, but had almost recovered when on the 12th of August, 1909, while at work in his shop, he had another stroke, which left him almost helpless. March 26, 1910, he and his wife moved to Watsontown and took up their residence with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Strickland, where he was when his summons came.
The deceased was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Tressler) Crist and was born in Loysville, Oct. 12, 1845. He came to this place (Bloomfield) with his parents in 1866, but worked the two years following with his brother George on his father's farm north of Green Park. In 1868 he entered the wagonmaker shop of his father in this place, and learned that trade, at which he worked until stricken the second time, as above stated.
