Obituary found in the Herald, October 19, 1921, Huntington, ROBERT EARL GAMBLE PASSES AWAY TUESDAY
Robert Earl Gamble, Born January 25, 1884, in Union Township, this county, died at 5:30 o'clock Tuesday evening at his home in Rock Creek township on the L. E. Summers farm three miles southwest of Markle. Mr Gamble had been in ailing health for sometime but only became seriously ill Monday noon of this week. Death was caused by acute obstruction of the bowels.
Mr Gamble was the son of Victor W. and Isabelle Gamble. His marriage was to Leona Redding, November 22, 1906. He leaves the wife, one son Orvillie and a daughter, Fae Gamble. Also surviving are the parents who live in Union township, two brothers, Orla W. Gamble, of Marion, Ohio, and Omar Gamble of Whitley county; four sister, Mrs Frank Caley of Union township, Mrs John Hughes of this city, Mrs. Frank Baker of Union Township and Miss Ola Gamble at home.
Mr Gamble was a member of the Trinity Baptist church at Barners Chapel where funeral services will be conducted Thursday leaving the residence at 2 o'clock. Elder J. H. Dailey and Elder N. L. Ford will officiate. Burial will be at Odd Fellows cemetery at Barnes Chapel.

ROBERT GAMBLE DIES- ILL SEVERAL WEEKS
Robert Earl Gamble, thirty-six years old , died at 5:30 o'clock last evening at his home in Rock Creek township, three miles southwest of Markle. He had been ill several weeks and was seriously ill since Monday noon.
Mr. Gamble was born January 5, 1884, in Union township, this county, to Victor and Isabel Gamble. His marriage took place November 22 1906, to Miss Leota Redding. Besides the widow he is survivied by one son, Orville, and one daughter, Fae, at home. The parents of Union township, tow brothers, Oris W. Gamble of Marion, Ohio, and Omer Gamble of WHitley county, and four sisters, Mrs Frank Caley of Union Township, Mrs John Hughes of this city, Mrs. Frank Baker of Union township, and Miss Ola Gamble at home, also are living.
Mr. Gamble was a member of the privitive Baptist church at Barnes Chapel where the funeral will be held Friday afternoon, with the Rev. Elder J. H. Dailey and the Rev. Elder N. L. Ford officiating. THe cortege will leave the residence at 2 o'clock and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Funeral services for Robert Gamble were held Thursday afternoon at Barnes Chapel at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Elder J. H. Railey. The singers were Mrs James Summers, Mr and Mrs Oma Summers, Phinesa Newhouse, Elsie Geseman. Flower learers were Ruth Caley, Florence Rice, Cora Rice and Fern Redding. Pall bearers were George Redding, Elmer Redding, Arthur Redding, Ivan Redding, Frank Baker and Frank Caley. Burial was at the I. O. O. F. cemetery.Indiana
