Tim Kredit, age 82, 209 Ninth St., Lynden, passed away at his home Sun., Jan. 22, 1984. Born Nov. 14, 1901 in the Netherlands, Mr. Kredit moved to the Lynden area from S. Dakota in 1946.
For 18 years he had owned and operated Kredit and DeWaard in Lynden and was a member of the Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden. He was also a member of the Men's Society of the Third Church, the Lynden Noon Kiwanis Club and was also a board member of the Lynden Christian Schools and had served 2 terms on the Lynden City Council. He was married to Florence DeJong in S. Dakota on Jan. 4, 1934.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; 1 son, Harlin and wife Linda of Lynden; 5 daughters, Mrs. Jean and husband Al Van Dalfsen of Lynden, Mrs. Clarice and husband Rev. Berry Blankers of Ripon, Calif., Mrs. Mavis and husband Harold Terpstra and Mrs. Carolyn and husband Jim Wynstra all of Lynden, Mrs. Eleanor and husband Bill Rietkerk of Seattle; 22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Bill of Minneapolis, MN, Marion in Florida, Nick in Calif., Egbert in S. Dakota; 1 sister, Dora Kredit in Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wed., Jan. 25, 2:00 P.M. in the Third Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Gerrit W. Sheeres officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Lynden Christian Schools or Project Hope. Services under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.
