Addie Kay Billingsley was born a twin on August 18, 1946 in Sinton, Texas.
To her family & friends she was known as Kay and grew up in Beeville, Tx. Her parents were John Boardman Blackburn and Ida Lee Farley Blackburn, her twin sister was Ada “Fay” Blackburn and brother, James Robert (Bobby) Blackburn.
Upon sharing her Valedictorian graduation from High School with her twin sister, the twins attended Sul Ross State University and Kay received her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Southwest Texas in San Marcos. Kay continued with her education and received her Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State University.
Upon completing her collegiate education, Kay Blackburn married Joseph Page Billingsley and began her career with the Texas Department of Corrections. Kay Blackburn Billingsley later went on to become a teacher at Crockett Middle School and eventually retired as the Managing Editor for LEMIT at Sam Houston State University.
Addie Kay Blackburn Billingsley passed away and went on to meet Our Lord on April 14, 2020 at 6:15 AM.
She was predeceased by her parents John Boardman Blackburn & Ida Lee Farley Blackburn, twin sister, Ada Fay Blackburn-Roundtree and by her husband, Joseph Page Billingsley.
Kay is survived by her sons, Alton Page Billingsley & girlfriend Tammy Light, John Lee Billingsley & wife, Robbie Berry Billingsley, Colbert Blake Dragoo and many friends & family, including her grandchildren, Carlton Page Billingsley, John Riley Billingsley, Brian Rivette Billingsley, Jada Reese Billingsley, Peyton Louise Billingsley, Kinley Mac Billingsley and great-grandson, Carson Page Billingsley. She is also survived by her brother, James Robert Blackburn and his son, John Louis Blackburn of Beeville, Tx.
Her Memorial service is presumptive planned to be held, after sufficient time of the Covid-19 pandemic to subside, on August 15, 2020 at the Jim English Cemetery in Crockett, Texas.
