Ronald Dean Agan, son of Lyman and Agnes Wood Agan, was born June 26, 1950, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, August 3, 2017, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, one month, and seven days.
On August 1, 1970, he was united in marriage to Karen Sue Young, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Karen, of the home; two daughters, Susan Phillips, and her husband, Todd, of Olathe, Kansas, and Brook Sevcik, and her husband, Anthony, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Kevin Agan, and his wife, Kim, of Ozark, Missouri; five grandchildren, Caleb and Cara Sevcik, Emma and Lucy Phillips, and Palmer Agan; two brothers, Tom Agan, and John Pulley, and his wife, Teresa, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1968. After he and Karen were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their family. Ron was employed by Detroit Tool Company as a tool and die maker, and then worked for the Durham Company. He finished his years of working at Precision Cutter and Tool Company until retiring.
Ron was a member of Emmanuel Chapel for many years and then attended Ozark Bible Church for a time. He then joined Community Baptist Church where he had been a Pastor of the Overcomer’s Program. He was involved in all phases of church work and put his faith central in his life. He was active in evangelism and leading others to Christ throughout the years. He was also active in the Gideon Bible ministry in Lebanon for a number of years.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed talking to everyone and never met a stranger. He was always willing to help those in need. He had a passion for caring for Karen and was devoted to her. He had a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his sixty-seven years.
