Oonagh Guinness was the youngest of the three daughters of Arthur Ernest Guinness and his wife, Marie Clothilde Russell, daughter of Sir George Russell, 4th Baronet. Her father was the second son of Edward Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh. She and her two sisters, Aileen and Maureen, were celebrated as the Golden Guinness Girls of 1920s British society.

She was married in 1929 to the Hon. Philip Kindersley. Their marriage was dissolved in 1936. She was married that year to Dominick Browne, 4th Baron Oranmore and Browne. They were divorced in 1950. She was married in 1957 to Miguel Ferreras Aciro and they were divorced in 1965.

She was a leading society hostess and art collector whose Luggala Estate became a center of Irish social life.
