Alvin, 65, of Lansing , went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. He was born to Raymond and Mary Jane (Martinez) Billips.

Alvin retired from General Motors where he worked many areas including Parts Department, Final Assembly and Fork Lift Driver.

He enjoyed nature walks, the outdoors, photography, cooking, sunbathing, rock and roll music and dining out. He especially enjoyed road trips to visit lighthouses and relaxing on the beaches. Alvin was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lansing. He faithfully read his Bible and trusted the Lord.

Alvin was a selfless man who enjoyed helping others. He was always willing to volunteer his time and did so often with Habitat for Humanity. Alvin was a caring and giving man that will be dearly missed by all who remember him.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Raymond Billips and Mary Jane; grandparents, Fidel and Trinidad Martinez; his sisters, Joyce Hill, Nadine Fenton; brother, Paul “Spencer” Billips;.

Surviving are his sons, Christopher (Rana) Billips and Alexander Henderson; daughters, April, Amber and Amanda Henderson. Henderson; grandchildren, Angel Billips, Harrison Billips; sisters, Sandra (Ron) Spaeth, Elaine Payne, Eva DeBolt, Noreen Crosby, Wanda (John) Miller-Bergquist; brothers, Raymond and Jay Billips; many nieces and nephews and special friend Danielle Murphy.

Due to the current pandemic, a memorial service will be held for Alvin at a later date at Deepdale Cemetery.
