Mrs. Wolfe, 100 years of age, of Monroe, died November 10, 2016 under the care of Hospice of Union County. A service to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Veronica Cannon officiating, with special guest, Rev. Gary Bryant. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West's Veteran's Section at 2 PM. J. B. Tallent Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Wolfie was born April 4, 1916 in Meck. County, daughter of the late R. B. Cox and Matilda J. Cox. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and Godly woman. Wolfie loved everyone and cherished her time with friends and family. She was a member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church for most of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Wolfe McLemore of Matthews, NC; her son, Walter D. (Bud) Wolfe and wife, Melinda also of Matthews; Five grandchildren, Kristy Carriker and husband Tim, Chad McLemore and wife Jody, Thad McLemore, Libby McLemore, Michelle Cruz-Alvarez and husband Frank, and five great-grandchildren, Morgan and Taylor Helms, Kenton Carriker, Keena and Kaden McLemore, and Ryan McLemore. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters and her husband W. C. Wolfe.
A special thank you to Melinda Wolfe for all her caregiving, and the other caregivers Sissy, Jean and Betty. We would like to express a special thank you to Hospice of Union County and The Jesse Helms Center in Monroe for their support, prayers and special care given to Wolfie.
