Mrs. Emeline Johnson--Old-time friends and a number of relatives gathered at the Christian Church, Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock to pay a last tribute to one who was dearly beloved by all who knew her--Mrs. Emeline Johnson, mother of Judge C. N. Johnson of this city who passed away at the home of her daughter in Fresno on Tuesday. The deceased had made hosts of friends here during her frequent visits at the home of her son and there are many who are mourning her passing. Mrs. Johnson was 77 years of age and had been in fairly good health until a few months ago, when she began to fail rapidly and the end was not long in coming. She leaves four children; C. N. Johnson of Rialto, Volney Johnson of Colton, Mrs. J. A. Ratzlaffof, Fresno and Mrs. Nora Prather of Kansas to mourn for her besides a number of grandchildren. Rev. G.F. Mathes preached a short funeral sermon and told of the years that the deceased had lived in this community, after which Mrs. Lee Rice and Mrs. Harry Brimmer sang a couple of duets and Mrs. Kenneth McRae a beautiful solo. Pallbearers were Fred Kingman, Harry Kingman, H.E. Winslow, J.E. Weller, Arthur Brimmer and Merton Brimmer. Interment was made in the Rialto Park Cemetery with Jublin and Stephens in charge of the arrangements.
