MRS. SARAH ANN BERRETT

Mrs. Sarah Ann Berrett, of North Ogden, died yesterday after an illness of several months. She was 80 years old at the time of her death.
Mrs. Berrett was born at Lancashire, England, August 11,1835. When seventeen years old she became converted to "Mormonism," and in February 10, 1852 come to the United states on the ship "Ellen Maria." The party arrived in New Orleans April 6, 1852 and immediately the company made a trip up the Mississippi river to Keokuk, Iowa., where the party outfitted preparatory to crossing the plains.

Mrs. Berrett walked the entire distance from Keokuk to Utah excepting for a two hours ride, when an ox had stepped on her foot. On March 15, 1855 she was married to Robert G. Berrett. Mrs. Berrett was the mother of eleven children. She was active in church work and for many years served as president of the Relief Society in the ward and had lived in North Ogden since 1854.

Funeral services will be held at the ward chapel Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Bishop Frederick Barker will officiate at the services.
