Vernon Eugene Barrett, 58, of the 5300 block of Hamilton Lane, died Jan. 20, 1994, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Barrett was born in Dayton, Ky., and was a Baptist. He was a courier with Federal Express and was retired from the U.S. Navy as a first class radarman. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association.

Survivors include his wife, Jean M. Barrett; one daughter, Tammy Kellam of Virginia Beach; two sons, Michael Barrett of Norfolk and Mark Barrett of Chesapeake; one sister, Virginia Cox of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Joseph Barrett of Maysville, Ky.; and six grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. William Dodd. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Friends may join the family from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
