Arthur Amadon was the son of Perry Frank & Eliza (Mason) Amadon. He received his A.B. at Williams College, 1881, A.M. in 1884. He was a teacher of mathematics, Monson Academy, Wilbraham, MA, 1882-1884; principal Pepperell (MA) High School, 1884-1886. He married Mary Ellen Whitcombe, of Boston, Nov. 25, 1886. He was professor of mathematics Drury College, Springfield, MO. 1887-90. Children, born in Missouri:
1. Arthur F. Jr., b. Nov 1887
2. Ruth, b. Feb 1889 - died 1906
3. Frank W., b. Jan 1891, wed Edythe F., son Frank W. Amadon, Jr
He received his M.D. at Dartmouth Medical College, 1891 and practiced in Boston since then. He was an asst. ophthalmic surgeon at Mass General Hospital, 1893-1904; ophthalmic surgeon Melrose Hospital since 1895.
His Mother-in-law, Addie L. Whitcombe, lived with them in Melrose and then Boston, until her passing. His widowed brother Dr. Alfred S. Amadon and young niece Bertha(b. 8 May 1901), also lived with them.
