Romanzy was the daughter of John Sour and Catherine Baylor Sour. She was the sister of Susannah Sour Martin, Elizabeth Sour Bottoff, and Rebbecca Sour Martin Hendren. Her father was born abt. 1784 (H.C., In. 1850 census) and died in 1857 (Probate Record of 1858).

Romanza Martin, mother of Trustee John S. Martin, of Morgan township, died, Saturday evening, of the infirmities of age, aged about 76 years. The funeral took place at Palmyra, Monday. The deceased was an excellent woman and was beloved by all who knew her. She leaves six children. The Corydon Democrat Wednesday (February 13, 1901)
