92, of Johnstown and New Florence, passed away on December 4, 2019. Don was born in New Florence on July 24, 1927 to Helen Lucinda (Liggett) and James Hysong. Preceded in death by his parents, brother James, sisters Helen Beggs, Inez Remley, Marjorie Medsger, Doris Anderson and his much loved son, Donald. Don is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Larison), daughter Pam, daughter-in-law Tina, grandchildren Zachary and Angela, brother-in-law James Larison, sisters-in-law Janet Larison and Roberta Miles, and many nieces and nephews. He had several passions in his life - his family, singing, traveling, and the railroad. Don was hired by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a young man and worked his way up, retiring as the Trainmaster at Conemaugh for Conrail. He was a board member and past president of the PRR South Fork Federal Credit Union. He sang bass with the Johnstown Symphony Chorus for almost 40 years as well as with other singing groups through the years, and was part of his church's choir until his death. Don was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where services will be held on Saturday, December 14th at 11:00. Friends received at at Picking Treece Bennett Mortuary on Friday, December 13th from 3-7. Interment Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
