Mrs. Betty H. Keith, 78, R. R. 3 of Mt. Auburn, died at 11:55 o'clock Thursday night in her home as a result of injuries received when she was in an automobile accident New Year's day.
The car in which she was returning home skidded off the pavement near Niantic and a truck, attempting to avoid hitting the car, skidded directly into it. Witnesses of the accident said that the blame could not be placed on anyone.
Mrs. Keith was born in Indiana, June 11, 1850, and came to this state and settled near Mt. Auburn with her parents when she was four years of age. Her husband died some time ago. She had lived for 50 years on the farm on which she died.
Mrs. Keith leaves two children, Mrs. Grace Witts and Mrs. Enoch Ashcraft of Decatur and a stepddaughter, Mrs. Lucy Smith, also of Decatur 26 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
