He was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Woodbury, Tennessee, the son of Walter and Corbia (Todd) Davenport.
David served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from General Tire as a millwright after 30 years of service. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his children, Julie (Russ) Berry-Brinegar, James David (Connie) Davenport Sr., Dale Wayne (Melissa) Davenport; siblings, Wayne (Myra) Davenport, Nova Gray; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chad Davenport; and his brother in-law, Tom Gray.
Out of respect for personal and public safety, due to the current COVID-19 virus, a private family viewing and burial will take place.
