Sheila Carol May of Columbia, passed away on Monday, April 20, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Sheila was born Mach 24, 1962 in Columbia, the daughter of the late Eldon Attkisson and Viola Waldrop Attkisson. On July 8, 1997, she married Tommy May. Sheila was the most caring of people. She loved and cared for all of the neighborhood animals, and was not limited to dogs and cats. She tried to nurture everyone she met. Sheila was a jokester and loved to laugh and spread joy. She worked for a number of years as an LPN in local nursing homes as well as Maury Regional Medical Center. Most recently she was the owner of Douglas White Florist. Tommy said of his dear Sheila, "My sweet baby, I love you more than the moon and stars." Sheila was a member of the Spencer Hill Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband Tommy May of Columbia; two sons, Randy (Missy) May and Steve May; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha (Jerry) McNeece and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Wayne Attkisson.

A graveside service will be conducted at Spencer Hill Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Pallbearers will be Ben May, Adam May, Larry Brown, Randy McNeece, Dakota Brown, Wesley McNeece and Robby McNeece.
