The former Virginia Brown was born Oct. 22, 1937, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Charles F. and Rosemary Peel Brown.
She was employed as a secretary in medical records at the former Mercy Hospital for several years.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Barbee, Rockford; sons, John Barbee, Davenport, and Allen Barbee, Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and brothers, James Brown, Clinton, Iowa, and LaVerne Brown, Schwenksville, Pa.
