She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Ruby Rogers of Athens, TX.
At age seven Sally urged her daddy to accept Jesus as his Savior, which he did, and oh what a difference the Lord made in his life. She graduated from Athens High School and Baylor University where she was elected permanent class secretary of the 1955 class.
Soon after graduating from Baylor, she met Herschel Forester at First Baptist Church in Dallas where they were married in 1958. They began a life long love affair which became a model marriage for many, especially their son and daughter. Sally was an active member and for several years a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist. She was respected and admired by family and friends as a woman of beauty and grace both inside and out. Sally was a woman of deep and unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her gentle and quiet spirit was a comfort to those of us who were privileged to know her.
Sally is survived by her husband Herschel Forester, two children , a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and six grandsons.
The memorial service will begin at 1 pm Tuesday, November 24 at First Baptist Church of Dallas in the Heritage Chapel.
