Donald E. Heintzelman, 96, of Wapwallopen, died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Mountain Top Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born January 21, 1924, in Sybertsville, he was the son of the late Harry and Miranda (Dalbert) Heintzelman.

A graduate of Hazleton High School, Class of 1944, he went on to serve as a private in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was employed at Berwick Forge and Fabricating until the time of his retirement.

Mr. Heitzelman was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church, Drums, and the Berwick V.F.W. He enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Preceding him in death were three brothers: Oscar Heintzelman, Charles Heintzelman and David Heintzelman; three sisters: Marion Cooper, Ethel Fisher and Florence Durvanski; and his step-son, Jeff Stout.

Surviving are his five step-sons: Richard Stout Jr. and his wife, Doris, of Briar Creek; Walter Stout and his wife, Donna, of Berwick; Clinton Stout and his wife, Sharon, of Wapwallopen; Roger Stout of Florida; and David Stout of Stillwater, N.J.; three step-daughters: Beth Stout of Wapwallopen; Linda, wife of James Mowery of Nescopeck; and Carlene, wife of Walter King, of Wapwallopen; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Due to the current pandemic restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., Berwick.
