Thressa Wyona Koch Morrison, 93, of Waverly, formerly of Arnold, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at the Waverly Care Rest Home.

Thressa was born to Ed and Nellie Koch on Nov. 22, 1912. She was born in a sod house in Arnold and lived in three sod houses before she knew the pleasure of a framed house. She lived in Stapleton for six years, then moved back to Arnold so the kids could get to school easier. Thressa went to country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Arnold High School in May of 1931.

She met Nels Morrison and married him Jan. 22, 1933. They had two children, Darrel and Ronald, and Don Brosius, whom they considered a third son.

Nels and Thressa retired from farming and moved into Arnold in 1967. She lived in Arnold until moving to Lincoln and Waverly to be closer to her son, Ron.

Survivors include her son, Ronald; grandchildren, Tina (Toby) Livingston of Eaton, Colo., Kirk (future wife, Jess Taylor) Morrison of Waverly and Roger Morrison of Wahoo; a great-grandchild, Ashlen Livingston; a sister-in-law, Tena Koch; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nels; a sibling, Darrel; and daughters-in-law, Norma and Marla; four sisters, Berneice Sweeney, Donna Beatty, Alberta Anderson and Delephine; and three brothers, Wayne, Rannsier and Marshall.
