Louise was a native and lifelong resident of Hartsville, She was a daughter of the late Elijah & Mary Marshall. She retired from the Peoples Bank of Hartsville, was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and greatly loved her Sunday School Class. Louise also loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Dr. Rick (Margaret) Clanton of Charleston and Susan (Carl) Watkins of Hartsville; grandchildren: Shannon (Chad) Lyerly of Florence, Brad (Errica) Watkins of Charleston, Meredith (Patrick) Onufrak of Charleston, Dr. Lauren Leah Clanton of Charleston; great-grandchildren: Beckham Watkins, Sylvia Watkins, Cade Lyerly, Josie Lyerly, Aiden Bentley, and Jackson Bentley; special niece, Linda Williams and nephew, Jamie Byrd; also, adopted son, Steve Jeffords.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raeford Lee “R.L.” Clanton; son, Floyd Clanton; sister, Willie Jeffords; and sister and brother-in-law, Doris & James Byrd.
