Cecil Allstot, 74

HARLAN - Cecil Jay Allstot, son of Charles and Agnes Miller Allstot was born Aug. 11, 1915, near Defiance. He was educated in the rural schools near Defiance. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army for three years. On Jan. 20,1942, he married Marcella Eckermann at Kansas City. They farmed and lived in the Defiance area until 1977. He was injured in an accident and has resided in nursing homes since. He died Sept. 7, 1989 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha at age 74 years and 26 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Marcella of Harlan; two sons, William of Battle Creek, NE.; and James of Omaha; two daughters, Anne Sextro of Irwin and Betty Kimmen of Dunlap and a brother, Louis Allstot of Grand Island, NE.; by ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Sept. 9, 1989 at Burmeister Funeral Home in Harlan with Rev. Fred Reischl officiating. Burial was in Harlan cemetery with Leonard Wells, Vernon Miller, Art Eckermann, Elmer Wageman, Albert Schwarte and Jerome Rauterkus serving as casketbearers.
