He was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Mount Pulaski, the son of Arthur and Ethel Wyrick Boggs. He married Mary Follis in 1940.
Mr. Boggs was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Japan, and played in the U.S. Army 14-piece orchestra. He worked for the state of Illinois for 32 years and retired as a mechanic from Central Management Services. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: wife, Mary; son, Ron (wife, Donna) Boggs of Springfield; a grandson; sister, Ethel Bowen of Waverly; two brothers, Arthur Boggs of Taylorville and Ennis (wife, Rebecca) Boggs of Virden; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Steenbergen Cemetery Chapel, Mount Pulaski, Kathy A. Swaar and Bill Shanle officiating. Burial: Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
