Sylvia Sleighsinger, 76, of Texarkana, TX passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Hospice of Texarkana.
Sylvia was born September 24, 1943 in Texarkana, TX to the late Harry and Maurice (Walthall) Sleighsinger. She was a lifelong resident of Texarkana and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Sylvia loved to study and through her studies she received bachelor’s degrees in education, language, and ceramic artistry. She continued her education receiving a master’s degree in education. Along with her love to study, she enjoyed traveling in the United States and internationally.
She is survived by her cousins Larry Miller and wife Margaret of Homosassa, FL and Frances Green of Magnolia, AR; special friends and caregivers Jan Black and Shirley Daniels of Texarkana, TX; a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Texarkana, Inc., 2407 Galleria Oaks, Texarkana, TX 75503.
