Cassius H. 'Mac' McChesney

Cassius H. "Mac" McChesney, 81, Breezy Point and Sun City West, AZ, died April 6, 2000, at Sun City West.

He was born December 4, 1918 in Packwood, Iowa. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, Ret.CWO4, Minnesota Army Reserve. He received the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of American Legion Post 428 in Waite Park, VFW #4847 in St. Cloud, and life member of BPO Elks Lodge 2251 in Tempe, AZ.

He was a music therapist and director of voluntary services at the Veterans Administration in St. Cloud. He owned Mac's Music Store in St. Cloud.

He and his wife, Jean, bought the fifth unit sold in what is now known as The Lodge at Breezy Point, approximately 35 years ago during the Ginny Simms era.

Mac was the founder of the Breezy Point golf outings held each winter in the Phoenix area.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Ann (Wold); daughters Patricia DeZurik of St. Cloud and Mary L. McChesney-Garcia of Glen-dale, AZ; son, Cassius J. McChesney of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Louise Jones of New Orleans; grand-children, Janet, Alan, and Andrew.

A brother, Raymond McChesney, died earlier.

A memorial service was held April 8, 2000, at Camino Del Sol Chapel in Sun City West.
