Helen passed away peacefully at her home on March 31, 2020 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Helen was born on May 30, 1926 along with her twin brother Lyle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Humphrey and Elizabeth (Bessie) Potts, her infant sister Annie Melissa and her brothers Harry and Lyle Potts. Helen is survived by her husband, Ivan E. Clark of over 62 years, her children Timothy (Melanie), Edwin (Jennifer), Susan Clark Jackson, grandchildren Kevin, Sean, Taylor, Josie, Jack and Grayson and three (3) great grandchildren. Helen grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Round Hill where she was very active in the day to day dairy operations. Her father always said he could not operate the dairy without “Peachie” so when she was nearing the birth of her first child in January 1960, the dairy business was sold. Helen and Ivan established their new home on part of the dairy farm land living there until the early 1990’s when they moved a short distance across the road. Helen kept an immaculate home filled with laughter and love. Always room for more at the table and always a hug ready to give. Her career was filled with caring for others and providing a loving and nurturing environment for children of dear friends. Helen was active in her home church, Round Hill Methodist church, teaching Sunday School and planning special events to include the Tom Thumb Wedding. After marrying, she joined the Round Hill Baptist Church where she continued to be active teaching and helping in coordination of the Wedding Gown Pageant attended by many from all across Loudoun County. Helen took pride in her home as was evident to all. She was a great wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and super proud great grandmother. When the first signs of spring appear and the gentle breeze blows, know that she is there. She will be missed dearly, but in our hearts, forever.
