Visitation for Elaine Cliffie Mason will be held at Basham Funeral Care, 3312 Niles Street on Tuesday morning December 10, 2002 from 10:00 12:00 noon. Graveside services will be held at Union Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon December 10, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.
Elaine was born June 1, 1915, in Goshen, California, and she passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2002, in Bakersfield with her family by her side. Elaine is preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Wesley Oldfield, her second husband, Bill Mason and her son, Richard Oldfield. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Nelson; daughter-in-law, Barbara Oldfield; grandchildren, Gerald Oldfield, Laurie LeLouis, Dianna Hinton and James Scott Nelson; her great-grandchildren, Adam Alden, Alicia Alden, Rachael Oldfield, Elizebeth Hinton, Bradley Nelson and Benjamin Nelson; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
Elaine loved her family and she enjoyed doing things with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were precious to her and they held a special place within her heart. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in both San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield. As an L.V.N., she helped so many people. She attended Chester Avenue Baptist Church, as well as Calvary Bible Church. She had a great love and appreciation of music and she instilled that love and appreciation into her family.
