Mr. Samuel Elliott Blount, Jr., 86, of Hickox died late Friday evening at his residence after a long illness.
Born in Argyle, Georgia he was the son of Samuel Elliott Blount, Sr. and Bessie Verilla Wainwright.
He worked as a truck driver for progress Feed Co before his retirement and was a member of the Hickox Praise and Worship Church. Mr. Blount served his Country in the U. S. Army and also was a member of the Masons and the American Legion.
Preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Florence Rival and a brother, S. T. Blount.
Survived by 3-daughters and a son-in-law, Avie Wanette Johnson, of Nahunta, Lillie "Nadean" Taylor, Annie Lou & Harold Williams, both of Hickox, 8-grandchildren, George Dixon (Rhonda), of Atkinson, Juanita Woodson, of Nahunta, Sheryl Waters, of Brunswick, Bobby Johnson, of Atkinson, Shelly Taylor, of Hickox, Alana McCarty (Randy), of Nahunta, Walter Storey (Cammie), of Patterson and Laura Williams, of Hickox, 12-great-grandchildren, 4-great-great-grandchildren, his brother, Jackie Blount of Nahunta, and also several Nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening at the Chambless-Frye Funeral Home starting at 6:00 PM.
A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon (Aug. 13,2007) at 2:00 PM from the Hickox Praise and Worship Church with Rev. Otis Johns and Rev. Barney Butler officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot at Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randall, Ryan and Russell McCarty, Eric Dixon, Bobby and Wyatt Blount.
