Betty was born August 25, 1932, to Chester and Edith (Stratton) Remsberg in Iola, Kansas. She graduated from Iola High School in 1950. Betty married Richard D. Lucas in 1953 in Iola, KS. Their union was blessed with seven children. . Betty enjoyed working with the Iola community in a variety of jobs including her final position at the Iola Public Library surrounded by friends and the books she enjoyed.
She was very active and a founding member of Grace Baptist Church, and made First Baptist her church home in more recent years.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, brother Albert Remsberg (Shirley), sister Marjorie Dickeson (Leonard), and her husband, who passed in 1999.
Betty is survived by a sister, a brother, four daughters, three sons, as well as 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Betty will lie in state at the funeral home in Iola until her service. Friends may pay their respects from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Monday. Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 Virus, the services will be private. Memorials in honor of Betty are suggested to the Iola Public Library or the International Mission Board and may be mailed to Feuerborn Family Funeral Service at 1883 U.S. HWY 54, Iola, Kansas, 66749.
