Josephine was born Sunday, September 9, 1934 in Celina, TN, to the late George Andy and Mary Emma (Gentry) Abney. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Clifton Ethridge; 4 siblings, Billy Abney, Georgia Lee Harms, Ed Abney, and Bettye Nevins.
Josephine was a devoted wife, who dedicated 43 years of marriage to Clifton, and a loving mother who found her greatest pleasure in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and doing crafts. Josephine was an active member of the Moss Home Dem Club for over 30 years, loved to cook and try new recipes. She had a take-charge approach with decorating and remodeling. In fact, she managed all-oversight in the building of her home in Celina. She worked inside her home as a wife and mother, and she managed her own beauty salon from an addition to her homesite. In addition, she worked outside of the home as an elementary education assistant. She was most satisfied in the regard of helping others.
Josephine loved the Lord and was a member of the Beech Bethany Church of Christ.
Josephine is survived by 2 daughters, Connie Graham and husband, Donnie, of Knoxville, TN and Debbie Eads and husband, Joe Neal, of Celina, TN; 3 grandchildren, Tonya Baijo and husband, Pat, Traye Seber, and Marjo Chappell; 6 great-grandchildren, Madison Baijo, Noah Baijo, Salem Baijo, and Lex Baijo, Gerald Seber and Zoe Seber, several nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing and loving her.
