Benton Ballou, 101-year old Ontario area pioneer and former food machinery manufacturer, died Monday in a Claremont convalescent home.
Mr Ballou had lived in the local area since 1899.
He was a native of McGregor, Iowa ad lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, before moving to the West End.
He is survived by his son, Sanford Ballou, of Ontario; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
Private funeral rites will be conducted at graveside in Bellevue Cemetery.
