In her early girlhood days she came with her parents to the state of Nebraska, her father taking a homestead about 7 miles east of Gresham Nebraska, here she lived and grew to womanhood.
In the month of July 1877 she was married to Robert Sigman Hirsch, M.D. who was a practicing physician in Gresham, Ne. later moving to Seward, Ne. To this union were born 8 children, 2 daughters and 6 sons. Harry passed away at age of 10 years and Bert who lived to manhood and had a family of 2 children passed away since the death of his father. She united with the Methodist church in Gresham, April 11, 1920, coming by letter from another church. She retained her membership there until her death. A few years ago Dr. Hirsch passed away and later she married Mr. Wm. B. Couch with who she was getting comfortably situated when the sudden summons came. She leaves to mourn the mother's vacant chair, one daughter Mrs. S.O. Harris (Nell) wife of Dr. S.O.
