ONTARIO, Dec. 9 William Rhoderick Lindley, 529 West street, Ontario native son and member of one of the city's best known pioneer families, died yesterday at the United States Veterans' hospital, Sawtelle, following a fortnight's illness with pneumonia, at the age of 45 years.
Mr. Lindley was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Lindley. He was a member of St. George's Catholic church and of Ontario post, American Legion. During the World War, he served for 13 month in France with the American expeditionary forces, having been with Base hospital No. 50 for the major portion of that time.
Surviving Mr. Lindley are his widow, two daughters, the Misses Mary Arden and Elizabeth Ann Lindley; two sons, William R. Lindley Jr. and Thomas Lindley; three sisters, Miss Jessie Lindley, Ontario; Mrs. Joseph C. Muehe, Azusa, and Mrs. Charles H. Ripple, Monte-bello, and one brother, Joseph P. Lindley, Portland, Ore.
A rosary will be said tomorrow, 8 p.m., at the J. B. Draper company chapel, 127 West street, and funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., at St. George's church. The Rev. Albert Dontanville will officiate and interment will be in Bellevue cemetery.
