A graduate of South Side High School in 1950, she attended Stephens College in Columbia Missouri. She and Stewart Herring were married in 1953. "Dianne was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Stew". They spent over 37 years enjoying their time between their home in Fort Wayne and their cottage on Lake George near Fremont, Ind. Their love for the lake was a passion that Dianne and Stew shared. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing challenging crossword puzzles, and playing cards with her many friends. She was a member of the Lake George Book Club, The Lake George Conservancy, The Lake George Inland Cat Sailing Association, several book clubs and bridge clubs.
Surviving are her children, John Herring of Las Vegas, Nev. and Sarah (Aron) Taylor of Argyle, Texas; grandchildren, Madison (Dillon) Nowlin, Hunter and Parker Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 62 years, Stewart, who passed away on May 10, 2014; she was also preceded in death by her son, Samuel Clarke Herring; and infant twins, Stewart and Laura Herring.
A Celebration of Dianne's life is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service.
