COLQUITT - Juanita Rawlings Geer, 96, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002. The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Colquitt United Methodist Church, with interment at the Colquitt City Cemetery. The Rev. Matt Stewart will officiate. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Colquitt Funeral Home. Mrs. Geer was a former merchant in Colquitt, having owned and operated the first women's clothing store in the 1940s. In later years, Mrs. Geer was a housemother at Florida State University, the University of Alabama and Emory University. She is survived by a daughter, Ada Geer of Colquitt; two sisters, Flora Grace Roberts of Colquitt and Laura Knight of Charlottesville, Va.; three grandchildren, Carol Geer Freitas of Hawaii, Garret Geer of Madison, Ga., and Zack Geer, III of Albany, Ga.; a great-grandchild, Melanie Freitas of San Francisco; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Zack Geer, Sr., and son, Peter Zack Geer, Jr.
