She was born near Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Jesse and Dora (Darst) Smith. The family moved to Atoka County by covered wagon when she was three years old. The Smith's were some of the early settlers in rural Atoka County and maintained a farming and ranching lifestyle for many years. She met and married Abner Price and they eventually moved to McAlester, where they raised their ever growing family of six sons and two daughters. One of her favorite T.V. programs was "Touched By An Angel". For the many people who knew her, they too, were touched by an Angel. She was admired and loved by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abner; her parents; five brothers; six sisters; two sons, Bill and Al Price; two grandsons, Doug and Mike Price and one great-grandson.

Note: Her son Alfred R. Price died Oct. 8, 2000. He was a resident of Sunizona, Arizona. He was born Feb. 19, 1935. It is unknown at this time where he was buried. He also had a brother, Bill, that preceded him in death.
